WP Accessibility Day is dedicated to promoting and learning website accessibility best practices for WordPress websites.
About the Event
WordPress Accessibility Day is an online event with a 24-hour single track of presentations. Attendees can register for free and watch live streams of talks held via Zoom with live captions and American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation. After the conference ends, presentations are edited, transcribed, captioned, and made freely available on the web.
History
Originally started in 2020 by the WordPress core Accessibility Team, the WordPress Accessibility Day conference is now organized by volunteers worldwide through an independent nonprofit organization, WP Accessibility Day.
The WP Accessibility Day nonprofit was founded in 2023 by Amber Hinds, Joe Dolson, and Bet Hannon.
Creating an independent organization to run the event has numerous benefits. These include being able to pay speakers and invest in additional accessibility services such as sign language interpretation, having fewer limitations on marketing tactics, and ensuring that the core WordPress accessibility team can focus on patching bugs rather than organizing an event (among others).

Event Organizers
Each event that we organize takes a large number of volunteers to plan and execute. We’re incredibly grateful to the community members and sponsors who help make WordPress Accessibility Day conferences possible. Please visit our event sites to learn more about each year’s sponsors and organizers.
Ongoing Volunteers
Several teams of volunteers support WP Accessibility Day year-round. These include the developers on our website team and translators who translate session recordings into languages other than English.
