WooCommerce gives merchants tremendous flexibility, but that flexibility can make onboarding complex. A merchant may discover an extension in the Woo Marketplace, install it, connect a third-party account, configure business-specific settings, map products, validate checkout behavior, and find help across multiple Support paths. Each step is part of the user experience, and each step can either reduce, or create, accessibility barriers.
In this session, India Anderson shares lessons from improving the Avalara for WooCommerce onboarding experience and reframes accessibility as a full product journey, not just a checklist. Attendees will learn how to identify accessibility barriers in plugin onboarding, reduce cognitive load for merchants, and turn support and compatibility feedback into clearer, more usable product experiences.
