The WordPress Accessibility Day Call for Speakers is now open, and we would love to hear your talk ideas!

This year we’re continuing with the pre-recorded talk format that was introduced last year! This means your talk will need to be pre-recorded and provided to us ahead of time.

If you already know what you want to speak about, submit your talk now!

If you’re not sure of a topic yet, some general ideas from past talks and current events that might help you think about your submissions include:

  • First hand perspectives navigating the tech industry with a disability
  • Working as a developer while relying on assistive technology
  • The accessibility journey of a plugin developer (how you made your plugin accessible and lessons learned)
  • How you adjusted your website build processes to prioritize accessibility
  • How to sell clients or internal stakeholders on investing in accessibility
  • Showcasing accessibilitie’s impact and return on investment
  • Writing content with accessibility in mind
  • Ethical considerations of AI in accessibility
  • Leveraging AI powered accessibility tools
  • Challenges of accessibility in React applications
  • Implementing accessibility in the product life cycle
  • WCAG 2.2 and Preparing for WCAG 3.0
  • Accessibility standards in your niche area (Higher Education, eCommerce, Financial Institutions, Healthcare)

The call for speakers will remain open through June 9th, 2026, so don’t wait to submit an idea.

WordPress Accessibility Day 2026 is a free, 24-hour online event, scheduled to start at 15:00 UTC (11:00 US Eastern, 8:00 US Pacific) on Wednesday, October 7th.

Each accepted session for WP Accessibility Day 2026 will be paid a modest honorarium of $300 per session.
