We are excited to announce that this year’s keynote speaker for WordPress Accessibility Day will be Ed Summers!
As a blind software developer and the Head of Accessibility at GitHub, Ed brings a vital, lived perspective to building tools and technology that break down barriers. His personal mission is to empower people with disabilities to realize their full potential in the classroom and the 21st-century knowledge economy, a goal he actively champions through his leadership at GitHub and his service on disability-related government and not-for-profit boards.
And when his hands aren’t on a keyboard, you’ll usually find Ed on the go with Loki, his trusted Seeing Eye Dog.
In his keynote, The Renaissance of Achievement for People with Disabilities, Ed will explore the positive impacts emerging within the disability community. He will dive into how rapidly evolving Generative AI technology holds enormous potential to empower people with disabilities .
Join us on October 7th at 15:00 UTC (11:00 AM US Eastern, 8:00 AM US Pacific) as Ed kicks off 24 hours of global sessions focused on advancing inclusivity in the WordPress community and beyond.
