Media partners play an important role in helping us reach new audiences, highlight speakers and sessions, and encourage participation in the event.

Participation Expectations
Media partnerships are collaborative relationships designed to help increase awareness of WP Accessibility Day and accessibility education.
Partners are expected to actively support event promotion before, during, and after the event through channels that align with their normal publishing approach. This may include articles, podcast episodes, newsletter mentions, social media posts, interviews, event coverage, or post-event recaps.
Expectation From Media Partners ( 4 or 6 weeks pre-event timeline)
- August 31-September 4:
- Article or podcast episode announcing the schedule.
- Article/podcast episode included in partner’s email newsletter.
- At least one post on partner social media channels using event hashtags.
- September 14-30:
- At least one article or podcast episode featuring speaker(s) or organizer(s) and encouraging people to register, highlighting some sessions on the schedule, and WP Accessibility Day as a nonprofit.
- Article/podcast episode included in partner’s email newsletter.
- At least 2 posts on partner social media channels (different days).
- October 1-6:
- Registration “last call” content in partner’s email newsletter and/or on partner’s social media channels using event hashtags.
- October 7-8:
- Attend at least 2 live sessions and post screenshots (with alt text) or quotes to social media channels using event hashtags and tagging speakers where possible.
- October 9-16:
- Post on partner social media channels recapping the event and sharing “top takeaways,” etc.
- If applicable to the partner, based on the typical content approach: article or podcast episode recapping the event.
- November 1-15 (exact dates TBD):
- Post on partner social media channels and share session recordings.
- Session recording announcement linked in partner’s email newsletter.
- If applicable to the partner, based on the typical content approach: article or podcast episode announcing the availability of session recordings.
Specific promotional activities and timelines will be provided to approved media partners in advance. We understand that every publication and platform is different, and we’re happy to work with partners to identify promotional opportunities that best fit their audience and content format.
